These are the standard drive letter mappings for Windowsbased machines. They are mapped via the EMPLOYEE and GROUPIFS Login Scripts in the EMPLOYEE container. These are application servers, used to serve applications and images to workstations in standard labs. One server may serve several labs. STUDENTDn: where n is a number. These are data servers for students where student userID home directories live. Generally mapped as a studentand39s drive u: EMPLOYEDn: where n is null or a number. These are data servers for employees where employee and misc userID home directories live. Generally mapped as an employeeand39s drive u: TSP: Used by members of the Technical Support Program TSP. Admin tools, knowledge bases, software, betas, and backup images are stored here. SHARE: universitywide network shared disk space. Some departments have slices of volumes here. Some classes have slices of volumes here. The software archive is located here. CUROOTn: where n is a number: These hold the master and r/w replicas of NDS. CUUTIL: A utility server. Handles things like FTP to netware servers this where you connect when you ftp to ftp.netware.clemson.edu. CDn: where n is a number. A server with lots of CD drives for delivering CDs to the network. BACKUPn: where n is a number: These are used to backup stuff on the network. Other Group Servers Most of the rest of the servers are group servers. These are used by various departments for departmental purposes. More than one department may use a single group server. Here is a short list of some group servers on campus.
