Outlook Anywhere 2007 and 2010 Setup andndashFor on and off Campus. Step1: Make sure Outlook is closed, Step2: Go Start Settings Control panel 2a: If it has not been done, you will need to switch to classic view. Step3: Doubleclick on the andldquoMailandrdquo Icon Step4: Click the andldquoShow Profilesandrdquo button. Step5: Add a new profile Click the andldquoAddandrdquo button Step6: Name your new Exchange Profile andldquoClemson Exchangeandrdquo Step7: Check the box for Manually Configure, and click Next. Step8: Select the Microsoft Exchange Option, and Click Next. Step9: Use this info for the corresponding boxes. Microsoft Exchange server: Exch07.campus.cu.clemson.edu User Name: Your UserID ex:okeefe DO NOT CLICK CHECK NAME Click the andldquoMore Settingsandrdquo button. Step10: If you are directly connected to Clemsonandrsquos campus Network, or using Clemson VPN you will be prompted for your credentials. Enter your User Name and password in this format: Example User Name is andldquookeefeandrdquo Campusokeefe If you are at home or on a remote network Proceed to Step 11A. On Campus, go to Step 12. Step11a: If you are off Campus you will see the following error message. It is normal After clicking OK on this box, you may need to wait up to 1 Minute before the next box will open. This depends on your computers speed and your internet connection Step11b: Click CANCEL on this box. Step12: In the Outlook anywhere subsection, Click the button for Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP. And then click the andldquoExchange Proxy Settingsandhellipandrdquo Button. Step13: Use this info for the corresponding boxes Connect URL https:// box xmail.clemson.edu Connect using SSL Only Checked Only connect to Proxy Serversandhellip..Checked msstd:xmail.clemson.edu On Fast networks, connectandhellip. Checked On slow networks, connectandhellip Checked Proxy authentication settings Use andldquoNTLM Authenticationandrdquo Preferred setting Click OK. Step14: if you have entered all your information correctly, both the Server and User Name fields will underline. Click Next. Step15: Click Finish and youandrsquore done Step16: Start Outlook, It will prompt you for a User Name and Password. Enter your User Name and password in this format: Example User Name is andldquookeefeandrdquo Campusokeefe Click OK. Basic Troubleshooting. Common Setup Errors User ID Error: This error can be caused by two things: One, the more common reason is due to forwarding not being enabled properly. Forwarding can be corrected at the following webpage: http://www.clemson.edu/emailforwarding/ Two, the user ID or Name is not spelled correctly, or does not match what is in the Global address list. Network Name error: This is a connectivity type error. It could be due to a typo in the server name, DNS lookup issue or lack of proper connectivity with your computer. Other than a typo, your consultant/Tech should help diagnose this issue. Checking connectivity Step1: To check your Connection Status, hold down the Control Key on your keyboard while rightclicking the Outlook Icon on your taskbar. next to your clock Step2: You should see something very similar to this.
