IMAP Access to Mail Server via Outlook step by step: This solution guide explains how to add an IMAP account to Outlook. It covers Outlook 2007, 2010 and 2013. Open your Outlook and access your account settings:For Outlook 2007, select Tools, then select Account SettingsFor Outlook 2010 and 2013, select the File tab, then select the Account settings button, and then select Account SettingsandhellipWhen you have the Account Settings window open, select the Newandhellip button. Outlook 2007 Users select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP and click Next. Outlook 2010 and 2013 users select EmailAccount and then click Next. For Outlook 2007 and 2010, put a check in the box for Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next. Outlook 2013 users will see Manual setup or additional server types, select this and click Next. Outlook 2007 and 2010 users select Internet Email and click Next. Outlook 2013 users select POP or IMAPand click Next. Input as shown in diagram, replacing with your personal information. The incoming and outgoing mail servers will be mail.clemson.edu. You can also choose to have Outlook remember your password. Then click the More Settings button. Select the Outgoing Server tab, and use the following settings. Put a check in the My outgoing server SMTP requires authentication and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Select the Advanced tab and use the following settings. andbull Incoming server IMAP port 993 SSL encryptionandbull Outgoing server SMTP port 465 SSL encryption If you have input the proper settings, you should see the following message if you click the Test Account Settings button as seen in the picture from step 5. You can Closethis window and then hit Next and Finishto complete the configuration.
