SUMMARY: PowerPoint Presentations Not Displaying Correctly on Wide Screen Projectors in ClassroomsSYMPTOMS: As wide screen projectors areplaced in classrooms, you may notice that your presentation looks funny or stretched. The problem may be due to settings in your PowerPoint 2007software. SOLUTION: Launch PowerPoint 2007. Click on the Design tab at the top of the page. On the left side of the Design tab ribbon, click on Page Setup icon. This will open a dialog box containing a dropdown entitled Slidessized for: which contains a number of options for slide sizing. Defaultis 4:3, and for wide screen should be reset to 16:9 or 16:10. Most widescreen laptops are 16:10, flat panels mainly in conference rooms are16:9, and projectors can be either. The difference between 16:10 and16:9 is minimal when projected, but huge compared to a presentationprepared in 4:3.
