Laptop Support

Welcome to Clemson University laptop support. We are located in the CCIT Support Center on the 2nd floor of the Cooper Library.  Laptop support is responsible for software support for all student laptops and can perform hardware diagnosis and repair as an Authorized Service Center for Apple, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, and Lenovo laptops.

Note: Windows 8 is not compatible with all campus systems or software and only very limited support is available at this time. Windows 8 drivers are not available for all laptop hardware and CCIT will not support Operating Systems that are not fully supported by the laptop's vendor/manufacturer.

Note: "Netbooks" and "iPads" and other light-use portable computing devices are not a viable option as your primary laptop. Support for these devices is extremely limited and consists only of setting up the wireless configuration and installing anti-virus software as required.

Please see our support hours here. If you have any questions, please email ITHELP@clemson.edu or call the CCIT Customer Support Center at (864) 656-3494.

Laptop Recommendations

The 2013/2014 laptop recommendations are posted here!

If you order a Clemson laptop or buy a new laptop, when it asks for your computer account name, please put in your Clemson username!!!!!!

Note: See "Quick Links" above to make purchases online or visit our on-campus computer store.

Note: We are planning on having our Dell and Apple recommended laptop models available for purchase at our on campus computer store prior to the beginning of the orientation sessions starting in June.

Note: All Apple laptops must include an Ethernet port and an optical drive to receive support in the CCIT Support Center.

Note: "Netbooks" and "iPads" and other light-use portable computing devices are not a viable option as your primary laptop. Support for these devices is extremely limited and consists only of setting up the wireless configuration and installing anti-virus software as required. CCIT provides no other software or hardware support for these devices!

Laptop Setup Workshops

New students are encouraged to attend a laptop setup workshop.  Click here for more information on that.

Laptop Workshop Tutorial Videos

If you are on campus and have not been able to sign up or attend a laptop setup workshop, there are laptop workshop video tutorials. You must be on campus and connected to the network with an Ethernet cable (not wireless). Please choose the appropriate workshop (Apple, Windows Recommended laptop, or Windows Non-recommended laptop).
