Getting Started with Microsoft Office 2007

This course is an overview of the new Office 2007 interface and is the prerequisite for all Office application courses including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Prerequisite: Windows OS experience

  • Explore common window elements
  • The new Office Button
  • Minimize, maximize, and restore windows
  • Getting information from the status bar
  • Switching views and zooming the workspace
  • Using the Ribbon, tabs, and buttons
  • Using keyboard shortcuts, key tips, and screen tips
  • Using galleries and live preview
  • Opening dialogue boxes and task panes
  • Using the contextual tabs, Mini toolbar, and shortcut menus
  • Working with files and the new file formats
  • Using the Help system
  • Using Interactive Reference
  • Printing files
