Strategic planning within higher education has long been an embedded part of the decision making process, at all levels of a university. Resource constraints, global competiveness, and increased demands all necessitate that strategic thinking play a critical role in an organization’s success. Computing and Information Technology relies upon a continual strategic planning process at both the organization and department levels that ensures visionary forward momentum in supporting Clemson’s research, education, and public service mission.
An ongoing facet of strategic planning is measuring for success. The Office of IT Assessment conducts internal progress reporting, analyzes external benchmark data, compiles CCIT’s response to national IT survey, and serves as a liaison to Clemson’s Institutional Research and Assessment offices.
In addition to Strategic Planning and Assessment, this department is also responsible for CCIT Research Administration. This office is responsible for quality assurance of pre- and post-award CCIT sponsored program activities. Services include the administering the proposal submission process, editing proposals, serving as a liaison between CCIT and the VP Research Office, drafting sponsored program budgets, providing supplemental materials, and managing the post-award reporting obligations.
