What is Windows® Movie Maker?
Windows® Movie Maker is software that allows you to capture video footage from your digital video camera into your computer. Then edit and produce a finished video with effects, transitions, titles/credits, audio track, narration, etc. that can be burned to CD-ROM/DVD-ROM or distributed via the web.
Is there a cost associated with Windows® Movie Maker?
Windows® Movie Maker came pre-installed on most computers that are running the Windows® XP and Vista operating systems. It can also be downloaded free of charge from the Windows® Movie Maker website. The only costs that might be associated with using Windows® Movie Maker might include:
- A microphone
- A webcam or digital video camera
- A video capture device
- The cables to connect your video camera to your computer(ex/firewire)
Can I download Windows® Movie Maker?
Yes. Windows® Movie Maker came pre-installed on most computers that are running the Windows® XP and Windows® Vista operating systems. If your computer does not currently have Windows® Movie Maker you can download it from one of the following websites:
