What is Audacity?
Audacity® is digital audio editing software. Audacity can be used to record and edit audio clips. These audio clips can be saved in multiple formats(.MP3,.AU,.WAV). MP3 are a common format for audio podcasts. Audacity is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.
Is there a cost associated with Audacity?
No.
Can I download Audacity?
Yes. Audacity is available for Windows Mac and Linux.
Is additional software required to operate Audacity?
Yes. If you plan on converting your recordings to MP3 files to create audio podcasts, you will need the LAME MP3 Encoder.
