Flash®
What is Flash®?
Adobe Flash is a multimedia platform used for adding animation and interactivity to web pages. Flash is commonly used to create animation, advertisements, and various web page components, to integrate video into web pages, and to develop Internet applications.
Is there a cost associated with Flash®?
Flash® CS3 is no longer available from Adobe; the new version is Flash® CS4. The “stand alone” educational version of Flash® CS4 retails for $249; Flash® can also be purchased as part of a number of higher priced Creative Suite® options.
Can I download Flash®?
You can download a trial version of the Flash® software from the Adobe website.
How do I use Flash®?
Clemson University has a campus wide license for the SkillPort Learning Resources. Training for Flash® MX and Flash® CS3 and Flash® CS4 are available in SkillPort. Use the keywords Flash MX or Flash CS3 or Flash CS4 in the Search in SkillPort to find available resources.
Adobe has several resources available on their website to help you learn how to use Flash®. There are additional resources available on the web as well. We have linked some resources that we believe will help you in learning Flash® below.
- Tutorials
- Click the Tutorials link above.
- On the next website, select the Product in the top left box.
- Then select Getting Started in the Select a Topic list in the top right box.
- A list of video tutorials will be displayed in the box in the middle of the screen.
- Select a video. Then click the Play Video button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Upon completing the video close the pop-up window to return to the list of videos again.
