Getting Started with Computing at Clemson
Clemson University provides its employees with an extensive set of computing resources. Your Clemson University Network Account provides you with access to:
- Network Storage Space
- Employee Web Space
- MyCLE (also known as Blackboard)
- Workgroups
- Access to computers in our campus labs and in our technology enhanced classrooms
- Network Printing
Simply follow these steps to get started:
Step 1. Read the Policy on Information Resources for Employees .
Step 2. Get your CUID.
Your Clemson University Identification Number(CUID) is a unique, nine-digit number that serves as your Employee ID number. You should have received your CUID number from the HR Representative completing your initial paperwork. This number can also be found on the back of your Tiger1 Card.
You can request a specific Username at the time that you complete your HR paperwork. Otherwise, your Username will automatically be generated within 24 Hours of your HR paperwork being completed. Your username at that time will appear in the online phonebook. Use the search feature in the phonebook to look yourself up. You will find your username in the USERID column. By default your password is set to the last 5 numbers of your CUID number. Please note that if you are getting your CUID number off the back of your Tiger1 Card, you need to drop the last digit. For example if your number is 12345789, then the last 5 numbers would be 45678.
This also designates your official Clemson University email address (for example, Jones2@clemson.edu, where “Jones2” is your USERID).
