Thank you Dr. Aziz for over 9 years of dedicated service as our department chair! You have spent countless hours serving us. Thank you for sacrificing your personal interests for the broader interests of the Glenn Department of Civil Engineering.

During the past 9 years, you have successfully guided the Department through a major faculty transition. Over two-thirds of our faculty joined the Department during your tenure as chair. These young and vibrant faculty members are succeeding and fast becoming leaders in civil engineering research and education. We welcome Drs. Luo, Piratla, and Ross to our faculty, and believe they will continue the tradition of excellence in the Department. We also have very capable, caring and supportive staff, an active Advisory Board, loyal alumni, and many talented and hardworking students. Some of the Department’s recent accomplishments are highlighted on our website.

We wish you all the best, Dr. Aziz, in your new leadership role as associate provost for faculty development and support.

As we move forward, I invite all to continue striving to provide excellent civil engineering educational and research opportunities for our students, and to continue thinking big and collaboratively with the focus on developing resilient and sustainable solutions to the nation’s infrastructure problems.
