Professional Development

Past Events:

Connect Day (Oct. 21, 2016) – This was a two-part inaugural event designed specifically for BioE undergraduate and graduate students to better connect with members of industry and academia. The first half of the day was a career fair with companies that were looking to fill intern, co-op, or full time positions. The second half of the day was a series of unique networking activities to bridge gaps between students, faculty and industry professionals.

Future Events (Spring 2017): Industry Tour – The purpose of the industry tour is to provide an opportunity for students to see the work environment students could be in one day. This is also a chance for students to ask questions about the hiring/interview process specific to the company chosen for the tour. How to Pitch Yourself and Networking Tips Workshop – A workshop to help students prepare the best 30 second pitch of themselves to potential employers or connections. Also included will be tips on how to network when at conferences and other professional events.
