Mrs. Newton advises general engineering Calhoun Honors students and other
freshmen. She is also the Freshmen Orientation Coordinator for the
Mrs. Newton has a wide variety of work experiences. She was a software
engineer for NCR Corporation, a stay at home mom, and an interior designer
for Southern Homes of the Upstate before starting work as an advisor in
2011. She believes that academic advising in the General Engineering is the
perfect fit for her varied interests and abilities.
She is married to Robby Newton and has three children. Her daughter,
Lauren, works in Washington, DC for NAFSA: Association of International
Educators. They are the professional organization for university study abroad
and international student services administrators. Her son, Brandon
graduated with a BS from Clemson and is a project manager for a residential
construction firm in Charleston and her son, Trevor, is a senior in Civil
Engineering at Clemson and will graduate in December.
