Driving Simulator

Clemson IE conducts human factors research in transportation systems with specific applications in driving behavior studies and data analysis.

We maintain a NADS MiniSim driving simulator, which features:

  • ¼ cab with integrated video and data collection tools.
  • Adaptive cruise control (ACC) and lane-keeping modules incorporated into the vehicle dynamics model to allow for studies relating to the impact of these systems on driving performance and safety.

The NADS MiniSim can be used to conduct safety and ergonomics studies related to driving behavior and performance associated with advanced in-vehicle technology.  It can also be used in evaluating virtual improvements in roadway infrastructure.

Contact Dr. David Neyens for more information about driving simulator studies.
