Safety Tips From Dr. Schweisinger

The Office of Research Safety (ORS) presents a Mercury Exchange Program. This program enables laboratories to exchange their intact mercury thermometers, manometers, and other mercury-containing devices for non-mercury devices at no cost.
To participate, please contact the Hazardous Materials Manager at 864-633-6357, or juneb@clemson.edu, or view more info on the ORS website.

Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student Council

The Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student Council (MEGSC) is a student organization focused on the improvement of graduate experience for all ME graduate students. This includes involvement in academic, research and social aspects of the ME department. In Spring 2017, members of MEGSC organized 6 different events for graduate students including a bowling night and a cricket game among other things. Additionally, we now have representatives on several different committees within the department such as the Graduate Research Committee or the Honors and Awards Committee. Many of the members of the MEGSC noticed that the ME Graduate Student Manual had confusing and out-of-date information. Therefore, several members reviewed and revised the manual to clarify and update the information. This is meant to help all ME graduate students that may have questions about the academic procedures, rules of the department or other important information. This coming semester we will continue to organize social events for graduate students to get together and enjoy time away from research and coursework. We will also continue to find ways to improve the academic aspects of the department. Please contact us (MEGSC@g.clemson.edu) if you have any suggestions or feedback.
