The Vice President for Research supports investigators through a number of campus offices.

The Office of Sponsored Programs assists investigators in organizing, developing and conducting research projects. Investigators can receive customized announcements of opportunities for funding through the SMARTS function of the InfoEd database administered through the Office of Sponsored Programs. The office’s proposal development program provides information on budgets, forms, policies and regulations.

Office of Research Compliance, located at 223-A Brackett Hall, addresses issues related to

  1. the rights and welfare of human research subjects,
  2. the safety of the work environment, and
  3. research, teaching and testing activities involving live, vertebrate animals.


The Office of Research Services, located in Godley-Snell Research Center on Cherry Road, cares for and maintains animals used in teaching and research.

The Office of Technology Transfer, located at 223 Brackett Hall, coordinates all patent and copyright activities, including the review, marketing and licensing of patents and computer software copyrights.
