CECAS Global Engagement - Industry & Institution Partners

The College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences has both international industry and university partnerships across the globe. For example, our college partners with global leaders such as BMW and Michelin, both of which have their North America headquarters in the Upstate of South Carolina.

BMW is a major partner of CECAS and has had ongoing collaborations including major funded research projects with faculty in several CECAS departments. BMW was a principal supporter of the CU International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR). BMW also supports Endowed Chairs in CECAS.

Michelin is a major partner of CECAS and has had ongoing collaborations including funded research projects with faculty in several departments. Michelin also supports Endowed Chairs in CECAS. Michelin is also committed to support global engagement experiences for CECAS students. For the last three years, Michelin endowed a Global Engagement Scholarship for our CECAS students supporting summer global engagement experiences and internships with Michelin.

The College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences has more than 30 Memoranda of Understanding (MOU's) and exchange/articulation agreements for undergraduate and graduate student mobility and research collaboration between our college and institutions abroad. Notable examples include our civil engineering program's Dual-PhD program with Tongji University in China and mathematical sciences graduate exchange program with the University of Bremen in Germany.
