Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in The Upstart Crow.
The Upstart Crow accepts essays, notes, and poems concerning Shakespeare's works. Three hard copies of the manuscript are required; please do not send a computer diskette at this point. To maintain anonymity for "blind readings," the author's name, address, phone and fax numbers, and email address should not appear on the title page or on other pages of the manuscript. Manuscripts should not exceed twenty-five pages double-spaced, including notes; they should be typed or printed on letter quality printers. Manuscripts should be double-spaced including inset quotations, endnotes, and bibliography. Photocopies of illustrations are acceptable at this stage.

Call for Papers
In addition to submissions addressing any aspect of Shakespeare's works or the works of his contemporaries, each volume of The Upstart Crow addresses a specific theme. Essays may address the topic broadly and from a historical or contemporary perspective. See the Call for Papers PDF for information on this year's theme. Submissions will be read as received.
