2015 Course Offerings
Session One: July 13-17 (University Center in Greenville) and July 20-24 (online)
Session Two: July 20-24 (University Center in Greenville) and July 27-31 (online)
Class Times: All classes will meet from 9am-4pm M-F during the first week of the institutes. The second week online portion will be flexible and requirements will vary by instructor.
*English Literature and English Language can both be taken during the same summer due to this online flexibility.
SC Public School Teachers:
Early Registration April 17th - May 8th - $200 per course
Late Registration May 9th - May 29th - $250 per course
Out-of-state or Private School Teachers: $500 per course
*Courses are filled on a first come, first served basis, and registration will close when 30 participants have signed up for each course.
Housing and Meals: Hotel recommendations will be provided to participants needing housing. The cost of housing and meals will be the responsibility of the participant. There is no campus housing available because the institute is housed offsite in Greenville.
Registration steps (ALL steps must be completed in this order to reserve a seat in a course):
Visit Clemson’s APSI Marketplace registration link. Enter your personal information and pay the AP registration fee by credit card or e-check.
Within 2 weeks of your Marketplace registration, you will receive an email with a link to apply as a non-degree seeking student or returning student to the Clemson University Graduate School. You must follow this link and pay the $60 graduate school application fee (if non-returning) to confirm your AP registration.
Transcripts: During the graduate school application process, you will be asked to upload an unofficial copy of your college transcripts. Please do so during this step in the online application. If you do not, you will still be able to participate in the institute, but may be blocked from enrolling in courses during future semesters.
Health Records: You will also be asked to provide an immunization record because you are registered as a Clemson University graduate student. This is NOT required. Please ignore all emails regarding health records, as they are designed for on campus graduate students and are sent to you automatically by the university.
Upon acceptance to the graduate school, you will receive an email with a link to accept your admittance and information about providing proof of citizenship at APSI packet pickup. This is an important final step in your registration process in order to receive academic credit.
Set up your Clemson student account and create a password.
**Refund policy: All registration fees are non-refundable. If you fail to complete any registration steps listed above by June 12th, you will lose your spot in the course and all registration fees will be forfeited.
All courses are offered in Greenville at the University Center with the exception of Chemistry and Biology, which meet at a local area high school. Detailed information will be emailed to participants in early June.
Packet pickup will occur from 7:30-8:30 am on the first Monday of each institute. Please plan on picking up your books and providing appropriate citizenship documentation (copy and original of your passport or birth certificate) during this time.
All courses meet for two weeks and use both in class and online instruction. Teachers are required to participate in BOTH parts of the course. It is not possible to only complete the online portion. Teachers are REQUIRED to attend ALL class sessions. All of our courses provide teachers with three (3) hours graduate credit in the content discipline.
