4. Is CU-CCMS part of Clemson’s Campbell Graduate Engineering Center?
No. CU-CCMS is located across the street from the Campbell Graduate Engineering Center on CU-ICAR’s campus. CU-CCMS is a university computational center, employing full-time engineers on applied research programs. We are not involved in the day-to-day activity of Clemson’s graduate engineering programs.
5. Can you describe your computing infrastructure?
Our HPC compute grid comprises 430 Sun Blade 6250s, each with two, quad-core, low-wattage Intel CPUs and 32 GB of RAM. The blades are networked using an ultra-high-speed, high-capacity Voltaire DDR Infiniband interconnect. This provides a total of 35 TFlops of compute-power and 14 TBytes of RAM.
This compute grid is complemented by the addition of three enterprise-class servers and storage capabilities. These include an E25K with 144 processing cores and 680 GB of RAM and two E6900s, each with 48 processing cores and 384 GB of RAM. For storage we have 40 TBytes of disk space and an L700 back-up and archival system.
This computing infrastructure is dedicated for the use of CU-CCMS for sponsored applied research programs.
