New Project Director for ACCELERATE
Mark Stewart has been selected as Consortium Project Director for the South Carolina Adult College Completion through E-Learning Resources and Academic Tracks to Employment (ACCELERATE) grant at Greenville Technical College.
Mr. Stewart holds a Master’s in Management from Southern Wesleyan University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University. Prior to his selection, he served as Regional Admissions Coordinator for Southern Wesleyan University where he supported adult students seeking degrees through the university’s evening curriculum, and assisted students from two-year colleges wishing to transition into four-year degree programs. Mr. Stewart was instrumental in the development of various recruitment and marketing efforts for SWU and subsequent increases in enrollment for the Greenville/Spartanburg region.
Prior to SWU, Mr. Stewart worked as Coordinator of the College and Career Academy for Greenville Technical College and as a career-academic counselor for an upstate South Carolina high school. Mr. Stewart also served in the US Air Force for 24 years, during which time he held numerous base and command-level positions including Writer/Source Manager for AF-wide nonresident training, and Command Superintendent for financial analysis operations with the Office of Special Investigations Headquarters in Washington DC. He retired in 1999 as Superintendent of Family Support Operations – Air Mobility Command.
