Student Spotlight – Myrtede Alfred
Myrtede Alfred is a master’s student in the industrial engineering program at Clemson University pursuing a concentration in quality. She received her Six Sigma Green Belt Certification earlier this summer and obtained her bachelor’s degree in human resources management (HR) from Florida International University in 2009.
Her background made her a great candidate to lead the development of the basic employability curriculum for CUCWD. Myrtede has worked on both content development and instructional design for basic employability modules and has assisted with the instruction design for maintenance modules. She was able to present her research on developing the course content for basic employability at the Advanced Technological Education Principal Investigator (ATE PI) conference in 2012.
Myrtede has also been working on a project for Duke Energy assessing the organizational culture and evaluating the review processes and communication flow among the different stakeholders in one of the organization’s construction effort. Her team was able to recommend intervention techniques to facilitate communication, streamline the flow of information and support employee morale.
