Friends of the Center for Visual Arts are invited to participate in all of free exhibitions, artist talks/lectures, receptions and student art sales as well as receive invitations to our special events. Below is a sampling of some of these exceptional events.

SmART Series

This series was aimed at bringing art and business expertise to the community at large. It explored how the arts and creative entrepreneurship intersect as well as provided unique resources to emerging artists, current college students, artistic business owners and aspiring creative minds.


Passport to the Arts

This popular signature “Town and Gown” event which happens the first Friday in March has become a favorite to bring friends and experience premier art, featured live entertainment, and a unique shopping experience all while enjoying a variety of appetizers and drinks. Celebration

The Center for Visual Arts Celebration brings out loyal patrons. There are several unique works of fine art available through silent auctions that featured paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and more from regional and national artists, including many Clemson faculty, students, alumni, and community members.

Out of the Park

Center for the Visual Arts–Greenville and the Greenville Drive partnered to expose our Clemson visual arts supporters to the environs of the lovely Fluor Field and to our wonderful neighbors, the Greenville Drive baseball organization. It was a one of a kind event bridging Greenville arts and athletics.


CVA-G Grand Opening

Clemson‘s presence in Greenville is forever growing and we are certainly making our mark all over the Upstate. The Clemson Center for Visual Arts-Greenville was opened in August 2013. CVA Friends and Family enjoyed the grand opening reception in this satellite facility shortly after its doors opened to the public.

A special thank you to CVA board of director member, Jamie Horowitz for hosting a lovely reception along with her husband, Henry at their home in Greenville as a way to spread the word about Clemson's initiative to create visual arts presence in Greenville.


Fine Arts Center Partnership

Greenville County high school students benefit from the efforts of Clemson University to attract talented student artists. The Fine Arts Center announced an educational partnership between its Performing and Visual Arts programs and Clemson University. Beginning in the 2014-15 academic year, students became eligible to acquire college credit through the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, SC.


Public Art Grand Opening

Atelier InSite, a Creative Inquiry public art program dedicated to placing public artwork around Clemson properties, was tasked with finding artwork for the 100,000-square-foot building. More than 200 artists responded to the initial request for proposals.
