Eidetic Reverie MFA Thesis Art Exhibit

Nov. 14-21 • Lee Gallery
M-F, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Artist Talks and Reception: Nov. 17, 6-8 p.m.

Converging in Eidetic Reverie, the work of Master of Fine Arts thesis students Carey Morton and Kymberly Day explores the visceral, cerebral, and emotional relationships of the subconscious mind. Inspired by the realm of myth and its parallels with personal growth and identity, commonplace materials merge with dreamlike imagery,
evoking surreal conditions. The artists refl ect on these relationships by examining memory, dreams, and cultural tropes that defi ne perceptions of reality.

This exhibit showcases a culmination of research in which students go through a series of critiques during their time as a Master of Fine Arts candidate, helping build a body of work of the students’ choosing. The public is invited to join the conversation by attending the artist talks, followed by a reception. All events are free and will be hosted in the Lee Gallery.
