Brent Jessup

Scott Allen

PGA Head Professional Brent Jessup: Brent Jessup has served as the head golf professional at The Walker Course since March 1999. Prior to his arrival in Clemson, he served as the head professional and director of golf at both Catawba Country Club and Tanglewood Park Golf Courses, in North Carolina. An active Class A member of the PGA of America since 1986, Brent has served as a member of the Carolinas PGA Section board of directors, is a certified PING Golf Clubfitter and an accomplished golf instructor.

Assistant Pro Scott Allen: Scott Allen joined The Walker Course staff in fall 2007. Scott is a graduate of Methodist University with a degree in professional golf management. He received his PGA Class A membership in 2006 and is a popular golf instructor.

Superintendent Don Garrett CGCS: Don Garrett has been the Walker Course superintendent since 1999 and graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in horticulture. Prior to working here, he was the director of golf and landscape maintenance for nine years at the Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, S.C. Don has been a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America since 1987 and earned the designation of Certified Golf Course Superintendent in 1995.

Assistant Superintendent Steven Thompson: Steven Thompson began working as a full-time employee on the greens and grounds crew at the Country Club of Spartanburg in 1990, and he began a college career in 1997. He graduated from Spartanburg Technical College with a Certificate in Landscape Management, and then received an associate’s degree in horticulture technology. He left Spartanburg Country Club in 2001 and worked as a landscape and estate manager. In fall 2004, he began working at The Walker Course as a student employee. After 10 years of work and college he received his bachelor’s degree in turfgrass management from Clemson University in 2007. Post graduation, he has served as a Walker Course assistant superintendent.
