News and Events at the Madren Center and Our Clemson SC Hotel
The Conference Center & Inn has just been honored with the ConventionSouth magazine's 2013 Readers' Choice Award. This award is selected by meeting planners and acknowledges the Conference Center & Inn's "excellence, creativity and professionalism in the meetings and conventions industry."
Clemson has been chosen as one of the “South’s Historic College Towns with Hip Group Appeal” for 2014! This distinction was determined by the editors of ConventionSouth magazine, a national resource for planning meetings and events in the South. The town of Clemson, Clemson University, and the Clemson University Conference Center & Inn will be highlighted in the September issue of the magazine.
Clemson University's Conference Center & Inn welcomes our new Director of Catering, Jermaine Bozier. Jermaine was born and raised in Florence, South Carolina and throughout his childhood his parents would always comment on his "out of this world" imagination. As Jermaine grew older and started to experience more of the world, his passion for food became ever so evident. Roughly 13 years ago, Jermaine started to mesh his imagination and passion for food into a career focus. As a professional caterer, Jermaine has had the opportunity to provide service to the highest levels of government office, present on Regional and National stages and continuously develop his craft and artistry through various professional development opportunities. Stop by to meet Jermaine and his team in the main office of CU's Conference Center for the planning of your next memorable experience.
"When you add a high level of service to great food and event innovation, the end result is always a memorable experience." – Jermaine Bozier
The Walker Course has again been honored with the distinction of being named the “Best in the Upstate” on the "Best You Can Play In South Carolina" Public Access Courses, just announced for 2013 by The South Carolina Golf Course Ratings Panel.
The panel is composed of 125 golf enthusiasts representing a diverse range of occupations, handicaps and backgrounds. The panel's objective is to promote excellence in the state's golf course design and operations through competitive ranking, education and public advocacy. The "50 Best" courses (public or private) are selected in even-number years and the "Best Courses You Can Play" are announced in odd-numbered years. Criteria used in the judging include routing, variety, strategy, equity, memorability, aesthetics and experience. A panelist must have played a course to vote for it.
The Walker Course is rated as the 9th Best Collegiate Golf Course in America on the Professional Golfers' Association's web site. View the write up here.
