Volunteer Information

We need your help.

Active members are the creative lifeblood of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Clemson University.  They are involved in every aspect of OLLI operations and programming. Nearly 100 volunteers work with 2 staff members to bring OLLI classes, lectures, events, and programs to you. We are always looking for fresh ideas, talents and skills.

Classes, hikes, excursions, receptions, special interest groups,  service projects, and more, contribute to the vibrancy of our organization. Behind-the-scenes, OLLI volunteers—members like you—are collaborating and creating those offerings, which brings them great satisfaction and a sense of community.

We have volunteer opportunities to suit nearly every interest and schedule:

  • Want to get to know more OLLI members?  Volunteer to “host” courses at Seneca Presbyterian Church and Chickasaw Point Clubhouse in Westminster, or plan member events with the Membership Teams.
  • Have experience with library resource management?  Help organize and manage the growing OLLI Lending Library at the Cheezem Center.
  • Is your home office neat and tidy?  Help us keep OLLI records up-to-date and accurate as an OLLI Office volunteer.
  • Have limited time to offer but still want to contribute?  Write articles or help coordinate the Member Newsletter, or serve on the Speakers’ Bureau.

Please consider accepting our invitation to serve as a volunteer. We appreciate your support as all of us are committed to providing the best lifelong learning program in the Upstate.
