Course Outline (with topics)
Symposium Overview
A printer's success and reputation depend on the ability to accurately and consistently reproduce color. In order to communicate color effectively with customers, designers, suppliers and production personnel, the graphics industry has adopted standardized systems of measuring color. Featuring presentations, demonstrations and extensive hands-on learning, this symposium gathers industry experts from around the country to share their understanding of these systems and the process control necessary to make them work for you.

The Color Measurement and Management symposium is a technical program designed for industry professionals who need to communicate about and manage color effectively. Participants will learn the workflow for color reproduction, the calibration and use of color measurement devices, the techniques for profiling scanners, digital cameras, computer monitors, proofing systems and press capabilities, and the application of these tools and techniques to ensure consistent and repeatable color reproduction. An "across the printing process" workflow will be considered that is appropriate for flexography, gravure, offset lithography, screen printing, and digital printing.

Color management methodology allows you to maintain control of color reproduction across the spectrum from original artwork to computer to proof to printed product. If you are not satisfied with discrepancies between proofs and product, you need to come to terms with color measurement and management.
