Renaissance Center

Welcome to the Renaissance Center

Renaissance CenterWe work every day to bring business and community leaders, faculty and graduate students together for conversations. We strive to involve Clemson University College of Business and Behavioral Science graduate students in new business development projects, and we help small business owners begin their dream jobs.

Thanks to the generosity of Greenville business leaders Mark Kent and Hayne Hipp, as well as a host of private donors, the College of Business and Behavioral Science occupies the sixth floor in one of the most beautiful buildings on Main Street in Greenville — the historic Liberty Building.

Through the Renaissance Center, the college organizes speaker series and public events and provides outreach services to entrepreneurs, businesses and organizations throughout the Upstate South Carolina region.

Our First Year

During this first year of operation, the Renaissance Center hosted 16 public events and discussions, serving more than 1,300 participants in various venues on Main Street.

Our offices have served as a training site for

  • 14 Small Business Development Center programs offered to 190 small business owners,
  • the meeting place for MBA student teams and regional firms as 16 new business development projects were launched and
  • as a gathering place for entrepreneurs and their advisory boards, faculty, students and Greenville community leaders.
