Clemson University Wordmark

Till Kirsten, PI on the European Gallium Solar Neutrino experiment, and Donald Clayton at Kirsten's home in Heidelberg. Clayton was on return visit to Heidelberg as von Humboldt Senior Scientist awardee, as he was in 1977 during the beginning of this close friendship. During the 6 years 1977-82 Clayton resided about 1/3 time in Heidelberg, working mostly on development of a cosmic chemical memory interpretation of isotopic anomalies, and to some degree on the GALLEX experiment. During this entire period Clayton shared the Kirsten's office as his guest and friend. For other photos of Kirsten and Clayton see 1976, 1981, 1985 and 1994 photos on this site. The date of this photo is Aug. 30, 1981.
