• Here's how the WebCam works:
• Requests for the WebCam CGI program are handled by the web server running on a QNX based PC.
• The WebCam CGI Program gets form inputs from the page and processes them. All state information such as camera position, image size, etc. is maintained through form variables and is passed to a new instance of the WebCam program each time a client requests a new picture.
• After processing the form inputs, your instance of the WebCam program moves the camera to the desired pan, tilt, and zoom coordinates and captures a new picture. Multiple simultaneous requests for hardware devices are handled by a client/server device driver architecture.
• After a picture has been captured, it is converted to JPEG and saved to disk. To force web browsers to reload a new picture instead of using the image in its cache, each picture has a unique filename.
• Using the new picture, the WebCam program dynamically builds a WebCam HTML page, which is delivered to you by the web server. WebCam Block Diagram
