ECE 906 Mechatronics Forum

Mechatronics describes the synergistic use of tools from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control engineering, systems engineering, and computer engineering to create new classes of systems and system performance. This seminar will be used to study current advances and results from this evolving field. Sample topics for the forum include:

  • Haptics
  • Unmanned Aerial Vehciles
  • Power and heat management
  • General nonlinear control results
  • Biomedical applications
  • Control of Chemical Processes

Many graduate students in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical engineering are performing research on mechatronic systems. This course will provide a means to train students, promote collaboration between control-centric research groups, and disseminate new research results.

ECE students may take this course multiple times for credit.

Grading:
50% Oral presentation
40% written summaries
10% discussion participation
