EDUCATION

RESEARCH

My research is in the area of Function-Based Design. I am looking at methods to design on the functional level, and the correct methods to measure and compares designs of this type. I also am working on a small software implementation of this system. The abstract is available.

RAPID PROTOTYPING

Much of my graduate career has been in the field of Rapid Prototyping. For my Master's I developed a program to automatically add support structures to STL files. During this work, I was a co-developer of the "Clemson Intelligent Design Environment for Stereolithography" (CIDES, for short). I continue to support current research in the Product Realization Lab here at Clemson.

SKILLS

I have done extensive C programming, expanding into C++. I can still recall FORTRAN and Basic, but I'd rather not. I've used HOOPS and some X (particularly XView) in my coding to handle graphics. Recently I learned TCL and Tk; these are worth looking into. I have used Suns since Sunview was all the rage, and BC on the PC is no stranger to me. I choose to work on the Mac when I can, but haven't had to program on it yet.

I have taught two semesters of Statics to the undergraduates of this department. I have also assisted in the organization of a symposium on Rapid Prototyping held here at Clemson in 1992.

I work as an engineer/programmer for BPM Technology while I am finishing my degree.

My list of mosaic sites that I commonly use is available.
