Students and faculty members attended the BMES Annual Fall Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA on October 8-10, where they hosted an exhibit and presented research.

The Clemson University Master Panel of Entrepreneurs event, sponsored by the Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership, will recognize successful entrepreneurs from the Carolinas at the Westin Poinsett Hotel in Greenville on Thursday, October 8 at 5:30 p.m.

The department hosted a reception and tour for all family members of bioengineers from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, September 18 in the Rhodes Annex.

Clemson Bioengineering Society, the graduate student chapter of the Society For Biomaterials, hosted a tailgate before the September 5 MTSU football game. The tailgate began at 1:00 p.m. at the Parking Spot, next to the Esso Club. Contact Adam Kirn at akirn@clemson.edu for additional information.

This year’s Biomaterials Day symposium on July 23 featured speakers from Clemson, Georgia Institute of Technology, Medical University of South Carolina, and University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Neuroscientists from MUSC conferred with Clemson bioengineers on July 18 in the Madren Center to discuss translational partnerships.

The University awarded the B.S. in Bioengineering to members of the department’s inaugural class on May 8, 2009. The 24 graduates received the Bachelor of Science in either the bioelectrical or biomaterials program.

On February 14, graduate students traveled to Greenville to support the advancement of engineering education to youth.
