The School

The School of Computing at Clemson offers a nationally-recognized faculty that prides itself on the quality of its teaching and that is very active in a wide range of research areas. Members of the faculty have received national recognition for undergraduate curriculum design which is reflected in the school's strong curricula. Each program provides students with a broad and solid background in computer science. Graduates of our programs are well prepared and highly recruited.

We offer Bachelor degrees in Computer Science and Computer Information Systems.  In addition, we offer Master degrees in Computer Science and in Digital Production Arts as well as a doctorate in Computer Science.  For more program specific information, choose Undergraduate or Graduate.

Majors have 24 hour access to a diverse set of school facilities that range from workstations, graphics systems, virtual reality systems, network labs and computer clusters.

Last Fall US News and World Report ranked Clemson as #22 in the top public universities in the United States and as #2 in the "Up and Coming" category:

Clemson's main computing cluster (The Palmetto Cluster) was ranked #62 in the top 500 supercomputers in the world in June 2008: www.clemson.edu/newsroom/articles/2008/june/TOP500_Computing.php5.  It is ranked #89 as of June 2009.

Clemson University as a whole has 17,500 students, with approximately 3,000 of that number being graduate students. The university and town are located on the edge of Lake Hartwell in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Clemson is a lively and pleasant place to live.
