Professional
Pierluigi Pisu joined Clemson University in July 2006. His teaching and research interests lie in the general areas of fault diagnosis with application to vehicle systems, energy management control of hybrid electric vehicles, sliding mode control, and robust control. He is a member of the ASME and SAE. Dr. Pisu is a recipient of the following awards and honors: 1996 Best and Youngest Graduate in Computer Engineering Award at University of Genoa, 2000 Outstanding Ph.D. Student Award by the Ohio State University Chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and Best Paper and Outstanding Presentation Award in Future Automotive Technologies at the FISITA’04 World Congress. He is a 2004 Honored Member of Strathmore’s Who’s Who for Demonstrated Leadership and Achievement in Engineering Research and Education, and a recipient of the 2005 Rolls-Royce Scholarship Award for demonstrated leadership, communication, teamwork and academic excellence.
