Faculty Overview
Dr. Miller's major teaching and research interests are industrial ecology, sustainable engineering, and design for the environment. She teaches courses in pollution prevention, industrial ecology, systems analysis, and introductory environmental science. Her research efforts have been directed toward determining and improving the total environmental impacts of products, also known as life cycle assessment. Project topics have included evaluation of bio-based energy and products, determination of non-point source pollution in agriculture, reuse of waste tires in the Caribbean, calculation of the carbon footprint of land use change, and creation of predictive models for assessment of developing products.
