Winner Announced - Fall 2003 Research Poster Competition

MS and doctoral students displayed their research on posters in the IE Conference Room on October 10. Following visits by our respectable advisory board, faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students, Dr. Mary Beth Kurz and Dr. D. L. Kimbler reviewed the posters for presentation and quality of research.

First Place Winners
Funda Samanlioglu and Sarat Tangudu were awarded First Place for their poster, based on their research work on "Random Keys Genetic Algorithm for a Symmetric Multi-Objective Traveling Salesman Problem."
Kunal Kapoor, Nikhil Iyengar, and Pallavi Dharwada were awarded Second Place for their poster, based on their research work on "Development of an Industry Standardized Auditing and Surveillance Tool."

Honorable Mention
Uday P. Haral received honorable mention for his poster, based on thesis research, titled "Random keys Genetic Algorithms applied to multiobjectives scheduling problem considering traditional and non-traditional objectives."


Other participants were congratulated on the quality of their research and its presentation. The next department poster competition will be held next spring.
