IIE Conference Facility Tour Information






Thomas Creek Brewery
Greenville, SC

Thomas Creek Brewery is the upstate's largest and oldest microbrewery.  They produce eight standard beers and an assortment of seasonal brews.  This tour will introduce you to the micro-brewing process.



BMW Manufacturing
Greer, SC

This is BMW’s only American factory. This factory produces the X5, X6, and Z4 models. This tour will allow you to view the BMW manufacturing process as well as tour the Zentrum Museum. The Zentrum displays the history of the BMW brand firsthand.



Walgreens Distribution Center
Anderson, SC

The 700,000 sq. ft. facility at Anderson is the first of Walgreen’s third generation distribution centers. It was designed to provide improved inventory accuracy and increased productivity while providing employment opportunities for up to 1/3 of its team members to people with disabilities. It is computer controlled and highly automated. The Distribution Center currently supplies 387 Walgreens stores in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee with more than 20,000 items. At capacity, it will service more than 800 stores.


TaylorMade Adidas Golf
Westminster, SC

TaylorMade produces six golf balls which are all ranked in the Top 10 in distance by the February 2008 issue of Golf magazine. The Westminster manufacturing facility produces two of these golf balls, the TP Black LDP and the TP Red LDP. The plant uses lean manufacturing principles, 5S, KanBan, and Kaizen to produce at a capacity 72,000 golf balls per day.
