Who Should Attend?

Engineers and managers involved in quality improvement initiatives from both manufacturing companies and service sectors who are interested in gaining a better understanding of manufacturing processes and reducing process variability in order to improve business success. This includes: Individuals who desire to enhance their professional development with the skills necessary to support Six Sigma projects. Employees of companies that have deployed Six Sigma, who work with Black Belts, or who lead their own improvement projects. Companies that want to expand training across a wide range of employees to reduce costs and improve performance.

Overview

Green Belts play a vital role within the Six Sigma initiative as they lead the Six Sigma process on a daily basis. They often execute the principles and practices of Six Sigma and lead small-scale improvement projects within their respective areas. Green Belts do much of the legwork in gathering data and executing experiments in order to support the efforts of Black Belt projects. This five-day Six Sigma Green Belt course is designed to enhance technical problem solving skills using statistical tools and the application methods of the Six Sigma methodology to create cost savings which will contribute significantly to the success of your organization.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: Recognize key attributes of a successful Six Sigma program. Appreciate project selection criteria. Realize the role of a Green Belt in the Six Sigma organization. Understand fundamentals of the DMAIC problem solving methodology. Use basic Six Sigma tools for Six Sigma project definition and process baseline. Understand the need for advanced problem solving and improvement methodologies used by project teams. Actively participate in a Six Sigma team.

Topics Covered

The Six Sigma Green Belt course gives an overview of Six Sigma and covers the DMAIC process in detail. DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. The topics covered under each of these sections can be seen below.
