Design Experience

The Department formally integrates problem-based learning into its undergraduate curriculum through a set of two courses in system design: Systems Design I and II. The product and system development process in introduced in Systems Design I, through lecture, reading, discussion, and a substantial, semester-long, real-world design project, performed in teams, for on-campus and near-campus clients.  The design experience is culminated in the Departments’ capstone design course, Systems Design II. The focus of this course is on the execution of a semester-long, real-world design project, performed in teams, for industrial and service sector clients.
