Thomas Kurfess joined the Department in August 2005. His interests are in system development and integration methods with emphases on vehicle system operations, controls and manufacture. He is a fellow of the following societies: The American Society for the Advancement of Science, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is also a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the American Society for Precision Engineering and the American Society for Engineering Education.
