Suwanee team wins 2010 Palmetto Regional FIRST Robotics Competition
A team of high school students from Peachtree Ridge High School won the Palmetto Regional FIRST Robotics Competition held at Clemson University March 25-27, earning a trip to compete in the international championship competition April 15-17 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
Team 1261, nicknamed the RoboLions, is sponsored by The Motorola Foundation.
The team was part of the winning alliance along with Team 343 from Oconee County, S.C., and Team 1398 from Columbia, S.C. In the finals, the winning alliance defeated the alliance of Team 1102 of Aiken County Public Schools in South Carolina; Team 1772 of Gravatai public high school district in Brazil; and Team 2751 of the Pickens County school district in South Carolina.
