Ground Water/Surface Water Interaction

Susan Kelly and Kate Souders are working on projects involving the interaction of ground water and surface water.  We initially wanted to investigate the response of baseflow to recharge events, but our initial work showed that some new methods would be required.  We have developed some improved methods for measuring the permeability of stream beds and for making measurements with seepage meters.  These techniques should improve our ability to understand interactions between ground water and surface water.
