Undergraduate Alumni

Graham

Elizabeth Graham
(Bioengineering '10)

Liz graduated from Clemson University with her B.S. in Bioengineering in May 2010.  She began the work on polymeric nanoparticle uptake in cancer cells.  She is continuing her graduate education at Wake Forest University in the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest University's Biomedical Engineering and Science Program. Liz is pursuing her Ph.D. under Dr. Nicole Levi-Polyachenko in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, investigating metallic nanoparticles for targeted breast cancer treatment.

Hendrick

Brandon Hendrick
(Bioengineering '10)

Brandon graduated from Clemson University with his B.S. in Bioengineering in December 2010.  He joined Liz in researching the uptake of polymeric nanoparticle uptake in cancer cells and continued this work the following fall.  He is currently an R&D engineer at Spectranetics in Colorado Springs, CO.  He specializes in vascular intervention for both peripheral and cardiac use, and lead management through the use of catheters and laser ablation.

Mattison

Scott Mattison
(Bioengineering '11)

Scott's research focused on combinatorial drug studies for cancer therapy. He tested drug combinations on numerous cell lines and employed statistical methods to quantify drug efficacy. He is currently continuing his graduate education at Texas A&M.

Laura Reese

Laura Reese
(Bioengineering '12)

Laura graduated from Clemson University with her B.S. in Bioengineering in 2012. Her research focused on using nanoparticle drug delivery systems for cancer therapy, specifically focusing on polymeric nanoparticle uptake in spheroidal brain and breast cancer cells. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Bioengineering at Virginia Tech.

Cam Bloomquist

Cam Bloomquist
(Chemistry '12)

Cam graduated from Clemson University with his B.S. in Chemistry in 2012. Cameron's research focused on developing advanced, bioactive molecules for targeting and therapy. He was involved in molecule synthesis, in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo experiments for orthopedic applications. Cameron is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the School of Medicine, Biological, and Biomedical Sciences program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under Dr. Sam Lai.

Kevin Keith

Kevin Keith
(Bioengineering '12)

Kevin graduated from Clemson University with his B.S. in Bioengineering in 2012. Kevin's research was primarily focused on combinatorial drug studies for cancer therapy. He tested chemotherapeutic agents for enhanced drug cytotoxicity. He is currently pursuing his M.S. in Translational Medicine at the University of California, Berkeley.
