May 18-23, 2014 - Dr. Sosolik and graduate students Daniel Field, Dhruva Kulkarni, and Endu Srinadhu attended the EBIST 2014 Symposium in East Lansing, MI.

April-May, 2013 - DREEBIT, GmbH delivered and installed the equipment for the new CUEBIT laboratory.

February 9-13, 2013 - Dr. Sosolik traveled to Dresden, Germany to complete testing and preliminary training on the EBIT and beamline for the CUEBIT laboratory.

November 8-9, 2012 - Graduate students Endu Srinadhu and Daniel Field successfully completed their Ph.D. topic defenses. Congratulations!

May 24-25, 2012 - Dr. Sosolik traveled to Boston, MA to take factory acceptance test for the new metal evaporation system that will be installed in the CUEBIT laboratory.

Nov. 13, 2010 - Dr. Sosolik gave a presentation on CUEBIT and laboratory astrophysics with highly charged ions at the Astro Dust Workshop held in Clemson, SC.

Oct. 22-27, 2010 - Dr. Sosolik visited DREEBIT, GmbH in Dresden, Germany to discuss designs for the new Electron Beam Ion Trap and beamline that will be in the CUEBIT laboratory.

Sep. 26-Oct. 1, 2010 IISC Workshop - Dr. Sosolik and graduate students Russell Lake, Jason Puls and Daniel Field attended the 18th International Workshop on Inelastic Ion Surface Collisions in Gatlinburg, TN.

Aug. 8-13, 2010 - Dr. Sosolik attended the 2010 Conference on Application of Accelerators in Research and Industry and gave a talk entitled "The Center for Ion Modified Materials Research: A New Highly Charged Ion-Based User Facility at Clemson University".

March 31, 2010 - Dr. Sosolik attended the 2010 Southeastern Laboratory Astrophysics Meeting on Dust and Ice: Their Roles in Astrophysical Environments and gave a talk entitled "Highly Charged Ion Astrophysics in the Laboratory: A New User Facility at Clemson University".

March 14-19, 2010 - Undergraduate researcher Eugene Livesey attended the APS March Meeting in Portland, OR.

February 2010 - NSF officially announces funding for our new laboratory – the Clemson University Electron Beam Ion Trap (CUEBIT) through an NSF-MRI-R2 award. See the Award Abstract.

January 2010 - Graduate student Russell Lake returns to the National Institute of Standards and Technology to use the Electron Beam Ion Trap (EBIT) to complete his PhD work on highly-charged ion-surface impact measurements.

November 8-13, 2009 -Graduate student Russell Lake presented a poster at the 56th Annual Symposium and Exhibition of the American Vacuum Society in San Jose, CA.

Sept. 21-26, 2008 Graduate student Matt Ray and Dr. Sosolik attend the 17th International Workshop on Inelastic Ion Surface Collisions (IISC-17) in Porquerolles, France.

June 24 - July 4, 2008 Graduate student Russell Lake attends the 2008 Lindau Nobel Laureates meeting. His trip was sponsored by the Oak Ridge Associated Universities. As part of this trip, Russell also did some collaborative work in the laboratory of Prof. Ib Chorkendorff at the Center for Individual Nanoparticle Functionality (CINF).

June 9 - July 18, 2008 HIgh school student Chris Raines works with the SINS group as part of the Summer Program for Research Interns.

May 1, 2008 Dr. Sosolik and Dr. Harrell (ECE) receive funding through the NASA-EPSCoR South Carolina Space Grant Consortium for their proposal "Ionization-on-a-Chip for Miniaturized Mass Spectrometry".
