Welcome to the Office of The Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies
The Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies (ADRGS) in the College of Engineering and Science (CES) oversees research and graduate activities in the college. This office includes the proposal development (pre-award), grant management (post-award), graduates studies, and postdoctoral support offices and their functions. The ADRGS provides oversight of the college’s research centers, alliances and institutes and facilitates research activities for the college by identifying and cultivating possible research opportunities. The ADRGS also coordinates the graduate-level activities and degree programs across the college. Please explore this website to learn more about each of these areas.
Meet the Associate Dean
Dr. Douglas Hirt became interim associate dean for research and graduate studies in the College of Engineering and Science on March 1, 2016. Dr. Hirt has been a member of the Clemson University faculty for 26 years and since 2009 has served as professor and chair of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. He brings a wealth of experience to the associate dean's office.
