2009-2010 Victor Hurst Convocation
Many of you already know that the 2009-2010 Victor Hurst convocation has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. The processional route has been determined and a rehearsal for marshals and banner bearers will be scheduled in mid-August. All University employees are encouraged to participate in the processional.
Please plan to arrive at your Starting Point promptly at 8:15 a.m. The wearing of academic regalia is not required, but if yours is readily available please show your colors.
The procession will begin from Sikes, Brackett, and Tillman Halls at 8:30. The many participants starting from these points will proceed through the Carillon garden and on down the walkway to the right of Martin Hall. They will continue on past the reflection pool through the library breezeway (remaining on the sidewalk) to the Brooks Center. The remaining participants will join the procession at the Library plaza. The processional will enter the Brooks Center from the covered walkway at the main auditorium entrance.
IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, ALL UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEES WILL BE SENT AN ELECTRONIC MAIL MESSAGE INFORMING FACULTY, STAFF, STUDENTS AND GUESTS THAT THEY SHOULD SEAT THEMSELVES IN THE BROOKS THEATRE FOR THE FACULTY MEETING THAT WILL BEGIN AT 9:00 A.M.
Immediately afterwards, please join us at a reception that will be held to celebrate Clemson University's one hundred seventeenth academic year.
