The College of Engineering and Science invites applications for the Michelin Annual Scholarship for International Programs. These scholarships will help support outstanding students in engineering and science disciplines who undertake a rigorous program of study for developing French language fluency. Students involved in the program may also be eligible to participate in co-op and/or internships in Michelin Facilities in North America and France.
Applicants must be enrolled in degree programs of the College of Engineering and Science. A student must have completed at least two full-time semesters at Clemson at the time of application and be at least two semesters from graduation with a bachelor’s degree. Prospective Michelin Scholars must have French language proficiency or be taking courses towards developing such proficiency. Prospective Michelin Scholars are expected to have taken basic French through French 202 and have taken French 305 (conversational French) or commit to take it during the year as a scholarship recipient. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point ratio, and must be U.S. citizens or have a permanent right to work in the U.S. For 2014-2015, up to three scholarships of $2000 each will be awarded. Preference will be given to outstanding students who have not previously held the Michelin International Scholarship. Recipients will be selected by the faculty who comprise the International Advisory Committee of the College of Engineering and Science.

A complete application package must have two letters of recommendation submitted directly to Dr. Hoke S. Hill, CES Director of International Programs, O-220 Martin Hall. One of these should be from a faculty member familiar with the applicant’s French language skills and the other from a faculty member familiar with the applicant’s engineering and science program of study.
